INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
Design for Social Impact [D4Si] – 1st International Conference Design for Social Impact [D4Si] – 1st International Conference aims to be a space for reflection on design for society. This event will bring annually the work of researchers, academics, students, and designers from around the world. D4Si is focused on the area of Design, to promote an open, broad and plural discussion, in different areas of knowledge. By promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, the conference aims to advance science and promote holistic development. The changes that have taken place globally in recent years have brought about a new role for design, one that is rooted in ethical and moral principles. The design has been faced with emerging challenges and is now expected to act as an agent of change, focusing on contemporary concerns such as climate change, ecology, immigration, terrorism, poverty, aging populations, inclusion, and post-pandemic repercussions, among others. There are high expectations for designers today and in the future to think and act with strategic foresight and responsibility, working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to provide solutions across products, services, and systems.
