Micaela Fonseca PhD in Physics, is Vice-Director of the HEI-Lab R&D Unit at Lusófona University, Portugal, where she leads research and academic initiatives in games, wellbeing, and interactive media. She is the group leader of the Wellbeing Interactivity Nexus Lab, co-coordinates the VR HEI-Lab developers’ team, and is co-founder of the Games and Social Impact Media Research Lab. Her work explores the intersection of games, psychology, social impact, and participatory innovation, with a particular interest in game jams as spaces for creativity, experimentation, multidisciplinary collaboration, and social engagement. She co-founded Games for Good, described as Portugal’s greatest game jam for social responsibility. She serves as editor of the International Journal of Games and Social Impact.
