DESIGN
FOR
SOCIAL
IMPACT
INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
Chiara Bonapace is a 22-year-old Italian designer with a background in graphic and product design.
She holds a diploma as a graphic technician and a degree in Product Design from the Academy of
Fine Arts of Bologna.
During her studies, she developed a growing awareness of design’s potential as a tool for social
impact. This led her to focus on projects aimed at improving people’s well-being, where research,
empathy, and conscious design play a central role.
She is the winner of a contest promoted by YES Magazine, an annual comic series focused on
childhood obesity. Her comic was selected for publication and will be used in a pediatric clinic in
Matosinhos, Portugal, as an awareness-raising tool for children and families.
At D4Si, she will present the creative process behind her project, showing how comics can become
an effective way to communicate complex health-related topics. Through her talk, she aims to offer
a concrete glimpse of what can emerge when imagination and design come together with the goal of
improving people’s lifestyles.
